The Punxsutawney Area High School has announced this year’s Homecoming Court, as well as a schedule of events for this year’s Homecoming festivities. On Oct. 7, the annual Homecoming dance with theme “Beauty and the Beast” will take place in the Punxsutawney Area High School cafeteria from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. Students can purchase tickets at lunch this week for $10. Leading up to the dance, there will be a Spirit Week that includes: Monday — Crazy Hair Day; Tuesday — Floral/Beauty Day; Wednesday — Disney Day; Thursday — Flashback Day; and Friday — Red Day. “I love Spirit Weeks. They are my favorite things,” says senior and member of the Queen’s Court Jordyn Powell. For each day that students dress up for Spirit Week, they will get a treat from Student Government. In preparation for the dance, some students are working hard on decorations, tickets and advertising, while other students are planning dates, outfits and where to eat. “Before the dance, the Homecoming Court and I are going to eat in DuBois and then go to take some pictures,” says Jordyn Powell.
